Fear can work for you or it can work against you
My mother at 16 years old was pregnant with me as the result of most likely a close family friend or relative. My father is not listed on my original birth certificate.
With my Grandparents being Catholic, my mother was sent away to a nunnery to give birth to me and she had no say in the matter at all, it was her parents decision.
The fear of them being punished by God saved my life.
Fear had worked in my best interest and gave me life.
The fear of the "belief" in a future punishment after death saved my life.
Belief can save or take life.
We should be crystal clear about this because it was NOT out of love. My family was a wealth legacy. My Great Grandfather was an Army General in WWI and WWII and founded Walton Hills, Ohio. This was out of shame and embarrassment also rooted in fear.
You would think that because of this I would be extreme pro-life and anti-abortion.
Its not that simple.
My adopted parents gave me the best that any child could ever ask for. I was given every opportunity to succeed. I'm NOT the common orphan.
Women have abortions rooted out of fear. If our culture cannot decrease or eliminate most of those fears, then our culture has aborted that child.
The same people that are against abortion need to be the same people who tells this fearful pregnant woman, your child will be given everything needed that your fearful you cannot provide and you as a new mother, can be a part of that or not.
Our culture raises children, not parents only.
You need a license to drive so you don't kill people but you don't need any kind of license to raise a child.
Stupid is as stupid does, we are all in this together and no one gets out alive.
Raising children has changed, life is more complicated and some nations see this and provide a child advocate at birth. Good idea!
Minimize the FEAR, minimize the abortions. It's not that complicated.
My name is Bryan White and I am alive today only because of the Catholic doctrine of no abortion for any reason and the countless Priests and Nuns who encouraged my birth.
I consider this a debt I could never repay and one of my life's goals is to let every Catholic know the difference they are still making in this world.
